| Breaking News | | Sunday, April 20th, 2008: Dajan Blisters St. Petersburg
The St. Lucie Mets swept past the St. Petersburg Devil Rays 7-5 today at Hound Dogs Stadium and were paced by shortstop Semere Dajan. The 21-year-old Dajan got 5 hits in 5 at-bats, helping to send St. Petersburg down to defeat.
S. Dajan singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off C. Borges in the 9th.
Dajan is batting .333 in 2008 with 2 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 75 at-bats.

St. Lucie left fielder Gilberto Javier has a fractured skull, suffered while being hit by a pitch. He's expected to be out for 7-8 months.
Javier is swinging at a .322 pace on the year with 3 home runs, 66 RBIs and 68 runs scored. He has played in 103 games.

Takeji Matsuda was in charge the whole game in the Tigers victory over the Mets today. In a superb performance he blanked St. Lucie 10-0, yielding 4 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and 1 walk.
