| Breaking News | | Thursday, May 28th, 2009: 5-6 Day for Dixon After the Binghamton 13-3 victory over Portland and his 5-hit day shortstop Ty Dixon told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special."
The 24-year-old player gained that distinction today at Concordes Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Portland Sea Dogs.
The skipper of the Mets spoke glowingly of Dixon, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ty did that to perfection today."
T. Dixon singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In 2009 Dixon is batting .253 with no home runs. | | Wednesday, May 27th, 2009: League KO's Mets-Sea Dogs Players with 6-Game Suspensions Baseball officials have notified the Mets and Sea Dogs organizations that one of their players has been suspended for "inappropriate and aggressive behavior" in yesterday's Binghamton-Portland contest at Concordes Ballpark.
