| Breaking News | | Friday, April 25th, 2008: Kelley Belts 3 HR Against San Antonio Fireworks exploded with regularity in the Braves-Missions game, but it wasn't a match that set them off -- it was the bat of Greg Kelley. He belted 3 home runs in an awesome display of sheer power.
In the 16-3 Greenville victory Kelley stunned the Missions pitching staff for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and knocked in 6 runs.
After the game, Kelley said simply, "I saw everything they threw at me. Hitting was a piece of cake today... with lots of extra icing on it."
G. Kelley grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Á. García in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th and walked in the 8th.
Thus far in 2008 Kelley is batting .280 with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 7 runs scored. | | Tuesday, August 14th, 2007: Braves Blank Jackson, Go Winner Greenville rode the magical arm of Shu-de Go in a 7-0 shutout win over Jackson. He shackled them on 3 hits and fanned 7. Almost to a man, the Jackson Generals said he had them guessing wrong all game long.
This year Go has a 8-7 record with a 4.06 ERA. | | Wednesday, August 8th, 2007: Graffanino Suspended, Out 4 Games Greenville will not have the services of second baseman Tony Graffanino for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 4 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Wichita Wranglers and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Graffanino slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire.
Presently Graffanino is batting .297 with 128 hits and 12 home runs. He has knocked in 55 runs and scored 78 times. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 15-24, .385 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 9.5 GB | | Record at home | 6-15, .286 PCT | | Record on the road | 9-9, .500 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 5-4, .556 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 1-7, .125 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 14-17, .452 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 8-2, .800 PCT | | Record in April | 7-11, .389 PCT | | Record in May | 8-13, .381 PCT |
