This week's Player of the Week was Orlando Rosales of the Syracuse SkyChiefs.
He bombarded International League pitching for 7 hits in 13 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs while hitting .538 and scoring 6 runs.
So far this season, Rosales has recorded a .364 batting average with 12 hits, 5 home runs, 13 RBIs, 8 runs scored and a .432 OBP. |
| Saturday, May 16th, 2009: Hat Trick of Home Runs for Rosales
Today was a special one for Orlando Rosales of the Syracuse SkyChiefs as he slammed three home runs in the 16-8 win over the Buffalo Bisons.
"Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em."
The Syracuse third baseman had quite a game at Infantry Ballpark as he collected 4 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 8 and scored 3 runs.
O. Rosales hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season Rosales has hit .414 with 5 home runs, 13 RBIs and and scored 8 times. |
