| Breaking News |  | Monday, May 26th, 2008: Cubs Walters Snags FSL Player of the Week Daytona fans have something to crow about today as Daytona left fielder Ken Walters nabbed the FSL Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days.
"I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Walters.
He posted a .522 average (12-23) this past week with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 4 runs scored.
This year Walters is batting .309 with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs. The 22-year-old Cubs hurler blanked them on 1 hit to post a 8-0 triumph.
This season Price has fanned 33 in 71.1 innings and collected a 7-1 record with a 1.39 ERA. |  | Sunday, May 11th, 2008: Super Swinger -- Silva Slams 5 Hits 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Javier Silva of the Daytona Cubs had a sensational 5-5 game against Dunedin at Ballpark of Staten Island. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 4-2 shellacking of the Blue Jays.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, skipper?"
J. Silva singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off R. Reyes in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
