Monday, September 14th, 1998: 1998 SL2 #1 Hitter is Jersey City's Wigginton
Ty Wigginton of the Jersey City Concordes had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 1998.

The 20-year-old third baseman put up a .383 average and a .412 on-base percentage, piling up 184 hits, 25 doubles, 1 triple, 21 home runs, 81 RBIs and 86 runs scored.

Ryan Radmanovich of the Tampa Imperials proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award.

Radmanovich hit for a .303 average while collecting 132 hits, 34 doubles, no triples, 20 home runs, 80 RBIs and scoring 72 times.
Sunday, September 13th, 1998: Fort Fairfield Hurler Tops in Outstanding Pitcher Award Voting
22-year-old Ted Lilly of the Fort Fairfield Antlions put together a good year in 1998 for such a young player. Lilly was named today as the winner of the Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Lilly crafted an impressive 15-6 record and a 2.40 ERA. In 180 innings he allowed 141 hits, struck out 182, and walked 57.
